Bihar RTE School Admission: 2018-2023 Enrollment Figures
The data pertaining to the enrollment of children admitted/studying under Section 12 (1) (c) of the Right to Education (RTE) Act of 2009 in Bihar over the last five years is as follows: During the academic year 2018-2019, there were a total of 225,597 enrollments, which increased to 276,792 in 2019-2020. Subsequently, in 2020-2021, the number experienced a rise to 295,807, and in 2021-2022, it further escalated to 345,667. The latest figures for 2022-2023 reveal a total of 367,453 enrollments, indicating a positive trajectory in the educational integration of children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Bihar RTE School Admission: Reimbursement Status
Section 12(2) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act delineates the procedure for compensating Private Unaided Schools for enrolling children as per Section 12(1)(c). This compensation is calculated based on the per-child cost specified by the State or the actual tuition fee charged by the school, whichever is lower. It aims to cover the expenses related to 25% admissions in private unaided schools under Section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act and has been administered through Samagra Shiksha since the fiscal year 2014-15 (previously under SSA).
