LTC Air Travel to North East Region Extended further 2 Years Till 25 September 2026
LTC Air Travel to NE Region 2024: Relaxation measures are in place for air travel to the North East Region, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. In accordance with the CCS (LTC) Rules of 1988, the initiative permitting government employees to fly to these destinations has been extended for an additional two years, starting from September 26, 2024, and continuing until September 25, 2026.
LTC Air Travel to NE Region Extended further 2 Years Till 25 Sep 2026
The aforementioned Special Dispensation Concession comes with the following stipulations:
i. All eligible government employees can utilize their Leave Travel Concession (LTC) to travel to any location in the North Eastern Region (NER), Andaman and Nicobar Islands (A&N), Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), or Ladakh by converting one of their Home Town LTCs within a four-year block.
ii. Government employees whose Home Town aligns with their Headquarters or posting location are ineligible to convert any Home Town LTC since they do not qualify for that benefit.
iii. If a government employee’s Home Town is located in NER, A&N, J&K, or Ladakh, they may convert their Home Town LTC to explore any one of the other three regions listed, excluding the one where their Home Town is situated.
iv. New recruits are permitted to convert one of their three Home Town LTCs during a four-year block to visit NER, A&N, J&K, or Ladakh. Additionally, they may convert one more Home Town LTC for travel to the Union Territories of J&K or Ladakh within the same four-year period.
v. Government employees who are eligible for air travel may use this concession to fly from their Headquarters in their entitled class via any airline, adhering to the conditions outlined in DoPT’s OM No. 31011/12/2022-Estt.A-IV dated 29.08.2022 and DoPT’s OM No. 31011/11/2023 – Pers. Policy A-IV dated 20.10.2023 (enclosed copies provided).
vi. Employees not entitled to air travel may fly Economy class on any airline under the same terms and conditions specified in DoPT’s OM dated 29.08.2022 and DoPT’s OM No. 31011/11/2023 – Pers. Policy A-IV dated 20.10.2023 within the following routes:
a. Between Kolkata/Guwahati and any destination in NER.
b. Between Kolkata/Chennai/Visakhapatnam and Port Blair.
c. Between Delhi/Amritsar and any location in J&K/Ladakh.
For these non-entitled employees, travel from their Headquarters to Kolkata/Guwahati/Chennai/Visakhapatnam/Delhi/Amritsar will be according to their entitlement.
vii. Government employees may fly to NER, J&K, Ladakh, and A&N as stated in points (v) and (vi) above, regardless of whether they are using the concession against Anywhere in India LTC or instead of the Home Town LTC, as permitted.
